Michelle Slaughter is a founder and Member of Diosa Procurement, LLC. Michelle is a 2004 cum laude (top 15%) graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and earned her bachelors degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston.
While in law school, Michelle interned with two federal district court judges and a Texas First Court of Appeals justice. She was also very active in various law school organizations including serving as the President of the Hispanic Law Students Association. Michelle’s excellence in academics and legal advocacy earned her membership into Order of the Barons and Order of the Barristers. After law school, Michelle worked for two large international law firms representing businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, in Labor & Employment Law and Complex Commercial Litigation. Her excellent legal work earned her the recognition of her peers and she was named “A Rising Star” by the Super Lawyers edition of Texas Monthly magazine.
In 2010, Michelle founded her own successful law firm, The Slaughter Law Firm, PLLC, where she represented individuals and businesses in a variety of civil law matters. Then, in 2012, Michelle defeated a three-term incumbent judge and was elected as a district judge. In addition to her legal career, Michelle co-founded and co-owned a real estate investment company.
Michelle is married to her best friend and college sweetheart, Ed Walsh, an engineer at the Johnson Space Center. Together they have two beautiful little girls, Hazel and Laila.
Michelle is highly active in the community. She serves as: board member for D’Feet Breast Cancer, board member for the Rotary Club of Galveston, member and volunteer of the League City Lions Club, greeter for Clear Creek Community Church, and former Vice President of the board of trustees for The Galloway School, among her involvement and volunteer work with many other charitable and political organizations.
